Most of us avoid blocks with acute angles, but they can make spectacular quilts.

I love the second design.
read moreAlpine Cross is a block I would not choose to use in a real quilt, but I challenged myself to at least give it a go.

The Alpine Cross features in the first design, but the modifications took over in the second design.
I like blocks which are symmetrical, and I can see a different challenge to tackle in the future … playing with 5P blocks to see just how many symmetrical variations I can find.

read moreFound this project file waiting patiently to be opened again. It was created a couple of years ago when I was thinking that I should try using some blocks I didn’t like much, and some fabrics in colours I didn’t like much.
I am not sure where the starting block came from, possibly from EQ library, possibly came from one of my play sessions, or seen in a book or magazine. Some of the modifications are in both books and the EQ library.

The second design is interesting, and I love the border combination.

read moreA new project file to play with … so far nothing exciting, but I am interested enough to keep playing, though it is rare for me to cancel a project file once I have found a name.

A very basic design above, but an indication that it could get more interesting.
